New requirements for private visit visa applications
7/28/2026
From 1 September 2026, new requirements will apply to applicants travelling to Italy for a family visit or a private visit.
Family visits
You must provide documents proving your relationship with the person inviting you, such as:
- Marriage certificate
- Birth certificate
Private visits (friends)
Before you book your appointment, your host in Italy must contact the embassy by email and obtain approval.
Once approval has been granted, you may book an appointment under the Private Visit category. You must present the Embassy's approval email when submitting your application.
Important
If you do not provide the required supporting documents or the embassy's approval, your application will not be accepted and the TLScontact service fee will not be refunded.
These requirements have been introduced by the Embassy of Italy in Yerevan.
